Why I Became a Teacher
I feel a part of me always knew I'd become a teacher. I believe in the value of education and the opportunity it provides today's youth. Also, I teach students with their futures in mind, providing knowledge, a respect for learning, and a thirst to grow that I wish for each student to carry with them as lifelong learners.
My Education
In May 2015, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-9), and hold Middle School endorsements in Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. While in undergrad, I became a member of Delta Phi Epsilon, Kappa Delta Pi, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Golden Key International Honour Society. Additionally, I was the 2015 Elementary Education program recipient of the School of Education's Dean's Scholarship/Award in the department of Curriculum and Instruction. During the summer of 2020, I graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a 4.0 GPA and a Master of Science in Educational Administration.
